Garden City, NY–In recognition of HIV/AIDS Awareness Week, Nassau Community College will for the 18th consecutive year present a series of programs addressing the issues surrounding the condition. NCC HIV/AIDS educators will offer programs that deal with this virus to students and the community. During HIV/AIDS Awareness Week, the College will host the following events:
Monday, March 17–12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
NCC Physical Education Complex Dance Studio (Lower Level)
W.O.M.E.N. (Women's Outreach Motivation and Education Network)
This presentation includes inspirational stories about the different faces of HIV/AIDS by people living with the disease. Information on minimizing the risk of transmission is also discussed.

AIDS Memorial Quilt Display; AIDS: The Care Givers - A Photo Exhibit
A collection of national and international quilts on display, along with photographs and resource tables from various community organizations.

These programs are sponsored by the NCC Office of Academic Student Services; the College's Departments of Health, Physical Education and Recreation, Art, Music and Women's Studies; and the NCC Women's Center. Peer educators will be available at all programs to deliver information regarding HIV/AIDS. Admission is free and the public is invited. All programs are accessible to the disabled.
