The Creative Writing Project at Nassau Community College Presents

A Reading by Author Roser Caminals-Heath

February 7

Garden City, NY – The Creative Writing Project at Nassau Community College will host a reading given by novelist Roser Caminals-Heath on February 7 at 2:30 p.m. in the Bradley Hall Ballroom.

Roser Caminals-Heath was born in Barcelona, Spain, and completed a bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D. in English in the University of Barcelona. Since 1981, she has lived in Frederick, Maryland, where she teaches Spanish at Hood College.  Caminals-Heath has published five novels: Once, Remembered, Twice Lived; Les Herbes Secretes (The Secret Herbs)—which won first prize at the Jocs Florals de la Di'spora, a contest for Catalan authors writing outside of Catalonia, Spain; and a trilogy about turn-of-century Barcelona. Except for Once Remembered, Twice Lived, all her novels were written in her native language, Catalan, and subsequently translated into Spanish by the author herself.

During her presentation, Caminals-Heath will be reading excerpts from Once Remembered, Twice Lived, a fictionalized memoir that traces the interweaving stories of two Barcelona families of different social backgrounds throughout the twentieth century.
