Italian Heritage Day Celebration

Garibaldi and Messina: A Legacy of Reciprocity

Monday, October 8

Garden City, NY–Nassau Community College, The Long Island Chapter of the American Italian Historical Association, and The Order of the Sons of Italy in America, New York Grand Lodge, invite the community to attend the twenty second annual Italian Heritage Day celebration, which will be held at the College on Monday, October 8, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:

Garibaldi: Impact in World History–Prof. Chris Poulios, Nassau Community College History Department

Italians in the American Civil War–Dr. Frank J. Alduino, Anne Arundel Community College

With All Possible Haste: Americans Come to the Rescue of Messina Earthquake Victims, 1908–Dr. Salvatore LaGumina, Nassau Community College Center for Italian American Studies
