What is an I-20, and How Do I Get One From
Nassau Community College?

A Form I-20 is the document that you need in order to request an F-1 visa at the U.S. Consulate. Your U.S. school processes this form and sends it to you after you have completed the application process and you are accepted. The I-20 states the following information:

  • Name

  • Country of Residence

  • Country of Citizenship

  • School Information/School Official

  • Date of Birth

  • School Major

  • Start Date of Studies

  • End Date of Studies

  • Length of Studies

  • Cost of Studies

  • Student Financial Information

  • School Official Signature

  • Student Signature

In order to obtain an I-20, you must complete all application materials, including the Academic College Application AND the Form I-20 Application. The I-20 application must be accompanied by financial documentation.

After completing both applications, send all documents to the Office of International Student Affairs at Nassau Community College. Once you are accepted to a program, you will be mailed an acceptance letter, Form I-20, and a new student information folder.
