1. Study in the United States

If you would like to study in the U.S., you must obtain an F1 visa.  Do not travel with your tourist (B1/B2) visa.  In order to get an F-1 visa, you must be accepted to the school and obtain an I-20 form from your school. After you receive your I-20, you must pay the $200 SEVIS/I-901 fee. For more information on the SEVIS fee, click here:  www.fmjfee.com.

After you have your I-901 receipt, you must go to the nearest U.S. Consulate to request an F-1 visa. For more information on how to obtain an F-1 (Student) visa, visit thegovernment website at http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1268.html.

If you are currently in the U.S. with a different visa and would like to become an F1 student, you must consult with an international student advisor. Please call 516.572.7053 to set up an appointment. You must bring your passport, visa and I-94.

If you are currently an F1 student and wish to transfer, please go to the next section, “International Admissions”
