It is important that you ensure your computer is ready for using the Blackboard CE system in an online course environment. Please perform the following "Browser Check" and make any necessary adjustments to your computer.
Browser Check
Online courses rely heavily on properly configured Internet browsers in order for you to view various course content pages. It is critical that you ensure your browser is properly configured so it will function properly, allowing you to benefit from your online course experience.
It is recommended that the following procedures be repeated if you experience problems or if you log into your course from a different machine.
Before doing any course work, please perform the following:
1) Log into the Blackboard CE system
2) On the myCourses screen, click the "Check Browser" link in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
3) A window will open and Blackboard CE will execute a system check on your computer.
4) Problems will be reported with a red "X". [Green check marks are good.]
5) A link will be displayed next to any problem area with instructions how to fix the issue.
You should follow those instructions to fix the problem,
and then repeat the Check Browser to ensure the issue has been resolved.

Spyware
If your browser is having problems accessing the Blackboard CE system, you may also have an adware or "spyware" problem. Adware can be install on your computer without your knowledge when you download and install programs from the Internet.
Plugins
Some online courses require that your computer has the appropriate plugin installed.
Check with your instructor to see your online course requires a plugins to access course content, such as audio or video files. Generally your browser will inform you if a plugin is missing or out of date.
