Study Skills Workshops
The Department of Foreign Languages presents Study Skills Workshops every semester. Dates, times and locations will be announced in classes. Announcements will be posted in the Language Lab,located in M-15.
Departmental Scholarships
Spring Semester Scholarship
Two departmental awards of $500.00 and $750.00 respectively will be awarded to two full-time graduating students with a GPA of 3.0 or better. Preference will be given to students who have earned distinction in two languages.
C. H. Kallaur Scholarship in the amount of $400.00: To be awarded to a full-time graduating student who is presently enrolled in either German or Russian.
Fall Semester Scholarship
Prof. Bonita J. Buriel Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00: The student must hold full-time status and have successfully completed 12 credits and currently be enrolled in a Spanish and/or Italian class. The student must have completed at least one semester of Spanish and/or Italian with a grade of B+ or better. In addition, the student should show evidence of financial need. She/he must submit a 250-word essay in English on Why I am a candidate for the Bonita J. Buriel Memorial Scholarship. Essays should be submitted to Prof. Silvia P. Albanese. International Movie Nights
Every semester, the Department of Foreign Languages is proud to present a critically acclaimed foreign film. The show is open to all students, faculty and the rest of the College community. Whenever possible, films will be shown in the original language with English subtitles. Film Information

Multicultural Fair
The Multicultural Fair is held every spring semester. Come and visit our diverse representation of world cultures at the NCC Multicultural Fair.
Foreign Language Departmental Open House
Faculty members are available to discuss our current offerings, correct placement and careers opportunities in foreign languages at Foreign Language Departmental Open Houses held each April and November. Date, time and location are to be announced.
