Clinical Affiliations

Clinical Internship I and II are offered consecutively each year. Clinical Internship I (AHS 207) is offered during the spring semester followed by Clinical Internship II (AHS 208) in the summer semesters.

Clinical education is conducted at an affiliate hospital laboratory and is available only to medical technology students that qualify, as outlined in the NCC College Catalog.

Students are assigned to a hospital or private laboratory in Nassau County and surrounding area. Here, under departmental supervision, students further their clinical training in selected areas of laboratory work. Through participation and practice they refine technical skills and didactic principles as they relate to the laboratory workplace.

The College maintains a Memorandum of Agreement with each of the following facilities in order to provide the MLT student with a clinical internship. These agreements are maintained on an annual basis; however, the availability of each of our clinical affiliates may be subject to change due to circumstances beyond the College’s control. The number of students admitted each year is limited to insure clinical placement for each student.
